High alerts in major Airports of India

Delhi: With the city of Brussels under terror attack and Belgium on high alert,
India too is facing its share of threats and bomb scares. Security has been scaled up across all the
airports in the country after the Brussels terror attack, which left 26 people
killed on Tuesday, 22nd March 2016.All major airports of India are on high alert, following bomb threats in five Jet Airways flights today.
A Jet Airways flight from Delhi to Chennai was searched here on Tuesday evening after an anonymous caller reported that a bomb had been placed in the plane, police said.
Police said the call regarding flight 9W832 was received at around 4 p.m., just before it was to take off with some 115 passengers.
"A thorough search is being conducted in the plane" at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dinesh Kumar Gupta told news agency. He said all the passengers had been evacuated and taken to a safe place.
One of the Jet Airways flight to Chennai from Delhi (9W 828) was diverted to Nagpur. The other Chennai flight (9W 832) is parked at the isolation bay of Delhi airport.
Jet Airways received threat calls for five of its flights out of Delhi today leading to diversion of one and delay of the other. By the time the threat information was received, 9W 307 (Delhi-Dehradun), 9W 2657 (Delhi-Chandigarh) and 9W 2647 (Delhi-Gorakhpur) had landed at their respective destinations.
