ನವದೆಹಲಿ: ರಹಸ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ ಅಥವಾ ವಿಧ್ವಂಸಕ ಕೃತಗಳನ್ನು ನಾಶಪಡಿಸುವ ಭಾರತೀಯ ನೌಕಾಪಡೆಯು ದೇಶೀಯವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಿರುವ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮೋಸ್ ಸೂಪರ್ ಸಾನಿಕ್ ಕ್ಷಿಪಣಿಯ ನೌಕಾ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು 2020 ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ 18ರ ಭಾನುವಾರ ಅರಬ್ಬೀ ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿತು ಎಂದು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಅತ್ಯಂಕ ಸಂಕೀರ್ಣವಾದ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಭರಿತ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ, ಸೂಜಿ ಮೊನೆಯಷ್ಟು  ನಿಖರತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಗುರಿ ಸಾಧಿಸುವಂತಹ  ಈ ಕ್ಷಿಪಣಿಯನ್ನು ಐಎನ್‌ಎಸ್ ಚೆನ್ನೈಯಿಂದ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಹಾರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ನೌಕಾ ಮೇಲ್ಮೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೀರ್ಘ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ‘ಬ್ರಹ್ಮೋಸ್ ನಿಖರವಾಗಿ ತಲುಪಲಿದೆ. ಇದು ನೌಕಾಪಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಧ್ವಂಸಕ ಕೃತ್ಯವನ್ನು ತಡೆಯುವ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಅಸ್ತ್ರವಾಗಲಿದೆ’ ಎಂದು ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯದ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿತು.

ಬಹುತೇಕ ಬಹುಮುಖ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮೋಸ್ ಕ್ಷಿಪಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಭಾರತ ಮತ್ತು ರಷ್ಯಾ ಜಂಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಿವೆ.

ಬ್ರಹ್ಮೋಸ್ ನೌಕಾ ಆವೃತ್ತಿ ಕ್ಷಿಪಣಿಯ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಗೊಳಿಸಿದ ಡಿಆರ್‌ಡಿಒ, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮೋಸ್ ಏರೋಸ್ಪೇಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾರತೀಯ ನೌಕಪಡೆಯ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಸಚಿವ ರಾಜನಾಥ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿದರು.

ಭಾರತ-ರಷ್ಯಾ ಜಂಟಿ ಉದ್ಯಮವಾದ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮೋಸ್ ಏರೋಸ್ಪೇಸ್, ಸೂಪರ್ ಸಾನಿಕ್ ಕ್ರೂಸ್ ಕ್ಷಿಪಣಿಯನ್ನು ತಯಾರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಜಲಾಂತರ್ಗಾಮಿ ನೌಕೆಗಳು, ಹಡಗುಗಳು, ವಿಮಾನಗಳು ಅಥವಾ ಭೂ ವೇದಿಕೆಗಳಿಂದ ಉಡಾಯಿಸಬಹುದು.

ಡಿಆರ್ರ್ ಡಿಒ  ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಜಿ.ಸತೀಶ್ ರೆಡ್ಡಿ ಅವರು ಕೂಡಾ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ಷಿಪಣಿಯ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಾರ್ಥ ಪ್ರಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿದರು. ‘ಇದು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಶಸ್ತ್ರ ಪಡೆಗಳ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹಲವು ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ‘ ಎಂದು ರೆಡ್ಡಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.

New Delhi: India’s supersonic cruise missile, Brahmos, was on Thursday, 22^nd March 2018 successfully test-fired for the first time with an indigenous seeker. So far the Seeker, a critical technology in missiles, came from Russia.

“Formidable supersonic cruise missile BrahMos was successfully flight tested at 8:42 AM today, 22^nd March 2018 at Pokhran test range, Rajasthan. The precision strike weapon with Indian-made seeker flew in its designated trajectory and hit the target with pin-point accuracy,” the Defence Ministry Tweet said.

The seeker was developed by Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad, in collaboration with other DRDO labs.

The seeker technology, which determines the accuracy of a missile, is a closely guarded secret. Mastering it is a significant milestone in missile technology and would reduce import dependence.

BrahMos is joint collaboration between India and Russia and is capable of being launched from land, sea, sub-sea and air against surface and sea-based targets.

The range of the supersonic missile was initially capped at 290 km as per obligations of the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR). Since India’s entry into the club, the range has been extended to 450 km and the plan is to increase it to 600km.

The Army and Navy have already inducted the missile, while the air-launched version was test-fired for the first time last year from a modified Su-30MKI aircraft.

India's enemies nervous as Sukhoi-30 MKI-BrahMos integration gets closer to reality

New Delhi: If everything goes as per plan, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is all set to become the only air force in the world with a supersonic cruise missile system!

India will achieve this unique capability when IAF's frontline fighter aircraft Sukhoi-30 MKI will test fire a 2,500 kg BrahMos air-to-ground missile in the coming months. Some reports have claimed that the test firing will be held in April.

The IAF had, last June, flown with a 'dummy bomb' and had been preparing for the actual test firing since then.

With a range of over 290 kms, the BrahMos, onboard the Sukhoi-30 MKI, will provide the IAF the lethal capability to strike deep inside enemy territory without the risks involved in entering a heavily defended airspace.

Integration of BrahMos with Su-30 MKI will render the weapon a multi-platform capability, allowing the IAF to deliver a deadly blow to their vital installations from stand-off ranges.

The integration brings a paradigm shift in the capability of the IAF vis-a-vis its adversaries.

The Su-30-Brahmos combination will carry out air combat operations within and beyond visibility range and will provide the IAF with the capability of attacking targets protected by powerful air defence assets.

Around 40 Su-30 MKI aircraft are expected to be modified to make them capable of carrying BrahMos.

As per reports, several other countries in possession of the Su-30 strike fighter are looking to acquiring a lethal weapon system for the Russian-made warplanes.
