ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು: ೨೦೧೮ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗೆ ’ಆ ಕರಾಳ ರಾತ್ರಿ’ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ’ರಾಮನ ಸವಾರಿ’ ಮತ್ತು ’ಒಂದಲ್ಲಾ ಎರಡಲ್ಲಾ’ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರಗಳು  ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಎರಡನೇ ಮತ್ತು ಮೂರನೇ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗೆ ಭಾಜನವಾಗಿವೆ.

ರಿಷಬ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನ ’ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಹಿರಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲೆ ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು’ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ಮನರಂಜನಾ ಚಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗೆ, ’ಸಂತಕವಿ ಕನಕದಾಸ ರಾಮಧಾನ್ಯ’ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ವಿಶೇಷ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಾಳಜಿಯ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಚಿತ್ರವಾಗಿ ’ಹೂ ಬಳ್ಳಿ’ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿವೆ.

ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ನಟನಾಗಿ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ರಾಜಕುಮಾರ್, ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ನಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಮೇಘನಾ ರಾಜ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಪೋಷಕ ನಟರಾಗಿ ಬಾಲಾಜಿ ಮನೋಹರ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಪೋಷಕ ನಟಿಯಾಗಿ ವೀಣಾ ಸುಂದರ್ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಬಿ.ಎಸ್. ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪ ಅವರು ೨೦೧೮ ನೆ ಕ್ಯಾಲೆಂಡರ್ ವರ್ಷದ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು 2020 ಜನವರಿ 10ರ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ  ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದರು. ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಸಮಿತಿಗಳ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರುಗಳಾದ ಜೋಸೈಮನ್, ವಸಂತಕುಮಾರ್ ಪಾಟೀಲ ಹಾಗೂ ವಾರ್ತಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಆಯುಕ್ತ ಎಸ್ ಎನ್. ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಪ್ಪ ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

Dubai:  Bollywood actress Sridevi died of accidental drowning in her hotel bath tub, the Dubai government said on Monday, 26^th February 2018.

The Dubai police, it said on its official Twitter handle, has transferred the case to the "Dubai Public Prosecution" which will carry out regular legal procedures followed in such cases.

"Following the completion of post mortem analysis, Dubai police headquarters today stated that the death of the Indian actress Sridevi occurred due to drowning in her hotel apartment's bath tub following loss of consciousness," the Dubai government's media office said on Twitter.

The 54-year-old actor, known as Indian film industry's first woman superstar, died in a Dubai hotel room on Saturday,  24^th February 2018 late night.

The Dubai-based Gulf News said in a report that the actor was under the influence of alcohol. She fell into the bathtub and drowned, it added.

It also attached a copy of the UAE government's forensic report on its Twitter handle. The report, citing accidental drowning as the cause of death, has a stamp of the "Ministry of Health UAE" and the director of preventive medicine, Dubai, Dr Sami Wadie.

The report mentions the actor's full name, "Sreedevi Boney Kapoor Ayyappan", her passport number, date of the incident and cause of death.

"The investigation is still going on to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident as the forensic report only says that she drowned, Gulf News quoted an official as saying.

Her body has been sent for embalming, the newspaper said.

Sridevi's sudden death has stunned her family, friends and fans. She had stayed back in Dubai after a family wedding.

'Kaanmane' selected for National Film Festival

Bengaluru: 'Kaanmane-nurturing Nature' , documentary film directed by writer Dr. Niranjana Vanalli has been selected for National Science Film Festival, to be held on February 9-12 at Mumbai.

The film produced by Gopinath of EMRC(Educational Multimedia Research Center University of Mysore) is one among 12 films selected out of 144 films received from all over India. It is the documentary of 15 minutes.

"Kaanmane' is the documentary on domestic knowledge experiment in environment education held at Kaanmane Nisarga Jnana Kendra. where Journalist Naa.Karanta.Peraje lessoned to children.

Peraje in his blog 'Hasirumane' expressed happiness for selection of film to National Science Film Festival. He added that he feel happy to give lessons on nature to children, but the same process in front of camera was boring. However he is happy now as the film selected for National Film Festival.

Bengaluru: Well-known Kannada film director Lakshman Rao who is known as Geetapriya (85) died at K.C. General Hospital at Bengaluru on Sunday, 17^th January 2016.

Geetapriya directed more than 40 films including famous Mannina Maga, Durgastami, Naari Munidare Maari, Besuge, Mouna Geete, Putani Agent etc. He was known for lyrics and enteed the filed as lyricist.

He got national award for his Mannina Maga. Shravana Sambhrama was the last film he directed.

Geetapriya born on 15^th June 1930. He entered the Kannada Film field in 1954 as lyricist and became director  with direction of Mannina Maga in which famous kannada actor Dr. Rajkumar acted. It was released in 1968.

ಮುಂಬೈ: ಖ್ಯಾತ ಬಾಲಿವುಡ್ ನಟಿ ಶ್ರೀದೇವಿ ಅವರು ಎರಡು ದಶಕಗಳ ಬಳಿಕ ವಿಜಯ್ ಅವರ 'ಪುಲಿ' ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಮತ್ತೆ ತಮಿಳು ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ವಾಪಸ್ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

 51ರ ಹರೆಯದ ಶ್ರೀದೇವಿ 'ಪುಲಿ' ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ವೇಳಾಪಟ್ಟಿ ಖುಷಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 'ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ವಿಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್' ಶ್ರೀದೇವಿ ಅವರ ಕೊನೆಯ ಚಿತ್ರವಾಗಿತ್ತು.

 'ನನ್ನ ಹೊಸ ಚಿತ್ರ 'ಪುಲಿ' ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಲು ನನಗೆ ಅಮಿತಾನಂದವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಚಿತ್ರದ ನಟನಾ ವರ್ಗ ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಅದ್ಭುತ ಅನುಭವವಾಗಿದೆ' ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಟ್ವಿಟ್ಟರ್ ಸಂದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಈದಿನ 04 ಜನವರಿ 2015ರಂದು  ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

 ಹಂಸಿಕಾ ಮೊತ್ವಾನಿ ಅವರ ತಾಯಿಯ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀದೇವಿ ಅವರು ಮಾಡಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಶ್ರುತಿಹಾಸನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಸುದೀಪ್ ಅವರೂ ತಾರಾಗಣದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಬೋನಿ ಕಪೂರ್ ಅವರ ಪತ್ನಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀದೇವಿ, ಬಾಲನಟಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಎಂಎ ತಿರುಮುಘಮ್​ಅವರ ಥುನೈವಾನ್ ಭಕ್ತಿ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ನಾಲ್ಕನೇ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲೇ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

 ಮುಂದೆ ತಮಿಳು, ತೆಲುಗು, ಮಲಯಾಳ ಮತ್ತು ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಅವರು ಬಾಲನಟಿಯಾಗಿ ನಟನೆ ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಿದ್ದರು.

1975ರಲ್ಲಿ 'ಜೂಲೀ' ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರು ಬಾಲಿವುಡ್​ಗೆ ಬಾಲನಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಪದಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು. ತಮ್ಮ 13ನೇ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ 'ಮೂಂಡ್ರು ಮುಡಿಚ್ಚು' ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ವಯಸ್ಕ ನಟನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು.

SRIDEVI comes back to Tamil Film
after 2 decades

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Sridevi is all set to make her Tamil film comeback with Vijay's fantasy drama Puli after a gap of more than two decades.

Sridevi, 51, whose last cinema outing was English Vinglish, said she is enjoying her shooting schedules.

It gives me immense happiness to announce the title of my new Tamil film PULI. Its been a wonderful experience working with the cast & crew, Sridevi tweeted in her Twitter Account today, 04th January 2015.

Sridevi will features as actress Hansika Motwani's mother in the film, which also stars Shruti Haasan and Sudip.

Wife of producer Boney Kapoor, the actress started her career as a child artist in MA Thirumugham's devotional film Thunaivan at the age of four, and continued to act as a child artiste in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films.

She made her Bollywood debut as a child artiste in the hit 1975 film Julie and played her first adult role at age of 13 in Tamil film Moondru Mudichu.

Bangalore: Senior film producer, former president of Film Chamber of Karnataka and former president of Akhila Karnataka Brahmana Mahasabha Sri C.V.L. Shastry is no more. He died at Bangalore Thursday midnight (05 January 2012).

Mr. Shastry, winner of Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award was the senior producer of Kannada films. The award of 'Legendary Film Producer' was bestowed on CVL Shastry in 2008 at Mumbai.

An industrialist and key person in touring talkies revolution in Karnataka C.V.L.Sastry produced films like 'Malaya Marutha, Aaseya Bale and Kalla Kulla' all of them starring Dr.Vishnuvardhana.

'Malgudi Days' for television based on R.K.Narayan's novel in the direction of Shanker Nag was produced by Shastry.

He held the position of President of Karnataka Film chamber of commerce also.
