Prestigious INSA Teachers Award to Prof. R
Vasudeva
New Delhi: Professor R Vasudeva, Head
(Forest Biology), Department of Forest Biology and Tree Improvement, College of
Forestry, Sirsi, Karnataka has been awarded the prestigious INSA Teachers Award
(2018) of Indian National Science Academy, Delhi.
The award has been instituted to recognise
and honour teachers who have inspired students to take up careers in Science
and Technology.
Mr. Vasudeva has been selected for the
prestigious award this year as he has shown consistent and high level of
teaching, said the press note issued by Ajay K Sood, the President of INSA.
Mr. Sood wished that Vasudeva will continue
to nurture talent in the coming years.
The INSA Teachers Award carries a scroll, a
cash award of Rs.50,000 and book grant of Rs.20,000.
The award will be given in the Anniversary
General Body Meeting of the Academy in December 2018, the note said.

About INSA: The Indian National Science Academy was established in January 1935
with the object of promoting science in India and harnessing scientific
knowledge for the cause of humanity and national welfare. The foundation of the
Academy.
Eearlier known as the National Institute of
Sciences of India (NISI), was the outcome of joint endeavours of several
organizations and individuals and the Indian Science Congress Association
(ISCA) playing a leading role in this regard.
